Our Mission & Vision
Mission:
At Vera's Read and Rescue, our mission is to educate children early, along with their families, about the importance of pet rescue and adoption by sharing fun and engaging stories. Through our book donation program, where for every book purchased one is donated, we aim to shape lifelong values that lead to shelter-first choices.
Vision:
We envision a future where every child grows up understanding the value of rescued pets and every family's first choice is adoption.
About the Author
Author Bio
Tonja Hossallla is the author of a children’s books highlighting the mutually beneficial and profound impact rescue and adoption have on humans and the animals they rescue. Tonja’s first book, A Detour To Destiny, is the true story of her first rescue, Vera, which details how they found each other, lessons learned together and their journey as best friends. As well, Tonja is the Founder of Vera’s Read and Rescue a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the number of homeless animals by inspiring her readers, and their families, to adopt from shelters and rescues. Tonja’s book is sold on Amazon, and for every book sold, one is donated- 100% of proceeds raised are used solely to fund its mission.
